With hundreds of planned condos, a hotel, restaurants and more, developers of the new Sunseeker Resort hope to soon serve up a unique, waterfront experience. The newly planned development is projected to be spread out across upwards of 20 acres in Charlotte Harbor, bringing with it nine condo towers, a resort hotel, shops, restaurants and a marina.
A project of Allegiant Air, construction is projected to start in summer of this year, with an opening date for the first tower by late 2019. Already, though, Allegiant is accepting reservations and deposits.
The low-cost airliner is truly pulling out all the stops to ensure people take notice. Perhaps one of the most impressive planned amenities is the resort’s swimming pool. At nearly two-acres in length, it’s projected to measure in as North America’s longest pool, while the resort will also offer up access to a 10,000 square foot fitness center and spa.
In addition, around a dozen restaurants and bars are on the drawing board plus the marina will serve as home to both personal sailboats and rentals. Other planned on-site amenities include a full grocery store and pharmacy plus a medical facility, giving residents and guests virtually everything they need in just one location.
While all of the extra benefits of condo ownership are not yet known, they will include some additional dining privileges, transportation, housekeeping and a concierge. Condo ownership may also present some travel benefits through the airline.
With upwards of 700 condo units in the plans, the project calls for a combination of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans, with up to around 1,500 square feet of living space. The eight residential floors of each condo tower will also top parking.
The Sunseeker Resort marks the first resort for the low-cost airliner, which flies into nearby Punta Gorda Airport. This location at Charlotte Harbor is about an hour from Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers via I-75.
