Sales are in full swing at Babcock Ranch, where developers are already reporting a dramatic increase in sales for the first quarter of the year. Year-over-year, Kitson & Partners is reporting a 40-percent increase in home sales, with a total of 107 first-quarter new home sales.

Nearly one-third of those sales were in the month of March. The new home sales have helped America’s first solar-powered town surpass the milestone of 600 home sales.

New home marketing first began in 2017, while the first residents moved into the town in early 2018. Babcock Ranch now offers potential buyers seven different neighborhoods to choose from, including the property’s new gated golf course community.

With nine different homebuilders to choose from, prospective new homebuyers can choose from dozens of different home designs, including condos, villas and single-family homes. Priced from the low $200,000s to more than one-million, homes in Babcock Ranch are being designed to appeal to a variety of buyers, from younger residents to growing families and retirees.

Some of the model homes and quick-delivery homes in Babcock Ranch are either currently open or under construction. The master-planned community eventually calls for the addition of 19,000 homes and around 50,000 residents.

Developers are also pointing to the addition of a major new tenant in the area. Publix will anchor a shopping center scheduled to open next year at the new entrance to Babcock Ranch. It’s all part of designing the massive property’s hometown vibe.

Noted as America’s first solar powered town, Babcock Ranch offers easy access to dining options, retailers, a fishing pier and a lakefront boardwalk. The town also offers its residents miles of hiking and biking trails for outdoor recreation, a neighborhood school and a number of sustainable features, ranging from energy-efficient home designs to solar energy and self-driving vehicles.
