Family-friendly Tanglewood Neighborhood

Extremely family-friendly, the Tanglewood neighborhood is a good choice for those looking for a new community to call home in South Fort Myers. This established, single-family home community offers large lots and a superb location.

Once a potato farm, the Tanglewood neighborhood we see today was first developed starting in the 1960s and 1970s. A majority of homes for sale in the community now include two- to three-bedrooms and two- to three-baths.

It’s common, too, to find a single-story home for sale in Tanglewood, with around 2,000 square feet of living space. While there are some homes that are slightly smaller in the neighborhood, you may also find a home with a bit more square footage in the neighborhood of Tanglewood.

Many of the homes currently on the market tend to be priced in the high $200,000s to low $300,000s, making it an attractive price point for many families searching for a property in Fort Myers. The non-gated community also offers extremely low HOA fees, especially compared to some of the more amenity-rich communities in the city.

Because the neighborhood of Tanglewood is older than some other communities in Fort Myers, the properties for sale tend to come with mature, established landscaping. Some also come with such extras as private swimming pools.

Buyers will find that while some of the homes of Tanglewood have been more recently remodeled, others in the community are sometimes sold in need of a few updates. Another advantage of living in Tanglewood is its location.

An elementary school sits right inside the community. It’s also easy to head into Downtown Fort Myers, head to the beach, or enjoy any one of the more popular sites and attractions in the area. You’ll find the homes of Tanglewood right off scenic McGregor Boulevard. The community sits a few blocks away from the Caloosahatchee River.
