While packed with amenities and impressive home designs, Babcock Ranch also offers the appeal of small town ambience. It’s hard to find a community that even comes close to the offerings of Babcock Ranch, and its small town-like vibe is definitely part of the draw.

The very first residents of Babcock Ranch first moved in only a couple of years ago, but eventually it’s projected the community will grow to around 50,000 people. While that seems like a large number, the community stretches for 18,000-acres.

Located about 15 miles from Fort Myers, Babcock Ranch is its own unique place in this part of Florida. The sustainable town features its own wellness center and ice cream shop in its downtown area.

Known as Founder’s Square, it also includes a marketplace, some co-working office space and an outfitters store. You’ll additionally find things like community gardens, a lakeside boardwalk and even a band shell that hosts live entertainment.

Right on Lake Babcock is a lakeside clubhouse and activities center. It includes a swimming pool, a game lawn and fire pits.

The Lake Timber neighborhood in Babcock Ranch, meanwhile, adds in a Lakehouse with a game room, fireplace and kitchenette. There’s also a swimming pool and deck overlooking Lake Timber.

Younger children don’t even have to leave the neighborhood to attend class. The Babcock Neighborhood School sits right in the community.

Babcock Ranch has around 50 miles of trails to explore. Around half of the entire development is dedicated solely to green space and lakes.

Buildings in the town are constructed with solar panels, and homeowners can choose something similar. A large solar field in Babcock Ranch helps power the homes.
